Hello Kiski Nation!!!
I just wanted to invite everyone (alumni, parents, relatives, and neighbors) to the last two winterguard competitions in the 2013 season. Now that Pitt is out of the big tournament (one and done) and there’s nothing to do at home, it’s time to focus on the gym floor at Gateway HS this week and Hempfield HS in two weeks. Your very own Kiski Area High School Percussion Ensembles and Kiski Area Winter Colorguards will be competing at both locations.
All of our Kiski units have been working extremely hard putting the finishing touches on their shows and we need YOUR SUPPORT to cheer them on.
This weekend, the Gateway show will start around 2:45pm with the Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association percussion units. During this time the Kiski Open Percussion Group will perform their show – “aMUSEd” at 3:30pm. Following the open group will be our very own WGI Percussion Regional Champion……Kiski World Percussion Group. The world group will perform their show “Hallelujah” at 3:40pm. Both ensembles have been working very hard these past few months in preparing for their final performances over the next three weeks. Judges and fans are always amazed at our talented group of musicians. Don’t miss it – incredible music being made!
Be sure to stick around after the music has stopped because we have our three winter colorguards performing this evening as well. Performing at 5:30pm will be our very own Kiski Elementary program. This program has only been in existence for 2 years and the group is growing. Our high school guard members have done an excellent job in teaching them a routine that will bring back memories of your high school days. You can’t miss them……the girls will be dressed in their “Pink” shirts as they go together for their final performance of the year.
Next up is the Kiski Area Regional A colorguard at 6:50pm. These “ANGELS” have been working so hard each week and have done a great job over the course of their season in a new class they just joined this year. The “ANGELS” (really not after 4 hours of rehearsal) will take you through a storyline that might have you grabbing a tissue before the show is completely over. This is a MUST see……..
And finally we have our Kiski Area Scholastic A colorguard completing the night with their performance of “ALICE” at 7:54pm. This group of girls has done an amazing job the last few weeks in finalizing their show and becoming a WGI Regional Semi-Finalist last weekend in Cincinnati. As the girls look through the keyhole they know something is up that hat…………some say it’s magical! We say, “the hat is where it’s at!” Check it out for yourself.
Overall, five extremely talented groups all representing the Kiski Area School District. Just as amazing as the Kiski groups are the PARENTS, STUDENT/PARENT FLOOR CREWS, and STAFF MEMBERS that make this all possible. Without them we would not be able to host our own show, have props, uniforms, instruments, equipment, and everything you see during a performance. Thanks for the incredible support!
Talking about support……..we need everyone out to Gateway HS this weekend and Hempfield HS for Championships on April 6th. Wear your Kiski shirts……….whether your shirt is blue, black, purple, or hot pink – wear it with pride and cheer loud for our groups on Saturday night!
See you there………….
